Accessibility statement

Last update: March 23, 2023

Junekarlove.com website.
Adherence and process.

Junekarlove.com website fully adheres to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA (WCAG 2.1 AA) and complies with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) requirements.

Several automated accessibility checking tools, such as the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool and IBM Equal Access Accessibility Checker, were used in the website accessibility certification process. These tools are designed to help website developers ensure that WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards are followed when developing website code, design, and content.

The website has been manually tested by a blind digital accessibility expert to ensure its technical readiness for accessible usability. This step in the certification process helps ensure accessibility standards not only on a theoretical, but also on a practical level.

It is important to note that the Junekarlove.com website uses ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes, which define the behavior of certain web content for screen reading applications.

Manual testing environment and screen readers

The site has been tested on the following operating systems and with the following desktop and mobile screen readers:

  • In an “Android” environment, the site was tested with “Talkback” and “Commentary” screen readers.
  • In an “iOS” environment, the site was tested with “Voiceover”, the only available screen reader for this environment.
  • In a “Windows” environment, the site was tested with “Jaws” and “NVDA” screen readers.

Limitations and alternatives

When using the website with accessibility programs, you may encounter several restrictions on the use of the website. Known limitations and potential solutions are provided below.

Localization

Accessibility barriers related to localization:

  • Language switcher is not accessible (cannot be accessed using the keyboard alone, doesn't have accessible name to help assistive technologies identify it and has some aspects of user interface that need to be improved.
  • Pages that are translated in Lithuanian still have a hreflang with a tag of "en" instead of "lt".

The localization system provider we use in this case was informed of the barriers. We will be following the progress of the implementation of the fixes closely. We are hoping to have a solution for these errors until October 2023 the latest.

Archived documents

Documents might not work with current assistive technologies because they use outdated technologies that do not support accessibility. We convert documents to new formats upon request within 5 business days.
